Dr. Chiara Noli

VETERINARY SURGEON

Italian Specialist in Small Animal Medicine
European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology (Dipl. ECVD)

Dr. Noli graduated with honours in veterinary medicine at the University of Milan in 1990, she is Italian Specialist in Small Animal Diseases since 1995. From 1992 to 1995 she attended a residency programme in veterinary dermatology at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands. In 1995 she had a six-month externship in dermatopathology at the University of Bern, Switzerland. In 1996 she was the first Italian to obtain the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (Dip ECVD). She was founder and first President of the Italian Society of Veterinary Dermatology (SIDEV), member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Veterinary Dermatopathology (ISVD), President of the European Society of Veterinary Dermatology (ESVD) and member of the Board of Directors of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology (WAVD). She is currently President of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD). She is a speaker in many Italian and international courses and congresses, author of more than 100 articles in Italian and foreign journals and of nine book chapters. She is co-author of the first and second edition of the book “Dermatology of the Dog and the Cats” (Poletto 2002 and 2011), of the book-atlas “Clinical Dermatology of the Dog and the Cat” (Poletto 2009) and editor of the books “Veternary Allergy” (Wiley 2014) and “Feline Dermatology” (Springer 2020).

Dr. Silvia Colombo

VETERINARY SURGEON

PhD in Veterinary Internal Medicine
European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology (Dipl. ECVD)

Dr. Colombo graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Milan in 1992, she obtained the title of PhD in Veterinary Internal Medicine at the same faculty in 1997 and received a post-doctoral sholarship at the same university from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2003 she attended a three-year residency programme in veterinary dermatology at the Department of Clinical Veterinary Studies, The University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. She was an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Clinical Veterinary Science, University of Bristol (UK), between November 2003 and June 2004. In July 2004 she obtained the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (Dip ECVD). Since 2004 she has been working in the north of Italy, at various facilities, performing exclusively dermatological consultancy. She is member of SIDEV (Italian Societs of Veterinary Dermatology) since 1997 and full member of ESVD (European Society of Veterinary Dermatology) since 1994. She served as SIDEV President from 2016-2019. Since 2018, she has been a member of the ECVD (European College of Veterinary Dermatology) Board. Doctor Colombo has authored numerous articles in Italian and foreign journals and has given numerous lectures in Italy and abroad. She is also co-editor of the book “Feline Dermatology” (Springer, 2020).

Dr. Natalia Fanton

VETERINARY SURGEON

European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology (Dipl. ECVD)

Dr. Fanton graduated in veterinary medicine from the University of Padua in 2009 and then worked as a freelance veterinary surgeon in several veterinary centres in Northern Italy, leading to an interest in veterinary dermatology.

At the end of a residency programme in veterinary dermatology under the supervision of Dr. Luisa Cornegliani, in 2016 she obtained the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (Dip ECVD ). She is author of scientific articles in Italian and foreign journals and speaker at conferences, courses and university master degree courses. She works as dermatology clinician for several veterinary facilities in Northern Italy.

Dr. Elisa Maina

VETERINARY SURGEON

PhD in Veterinary Immunology
European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology (Dipl. ECVD)

Dr. Maina graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the State University of Milan in 2008 and then attended the dermatology course of the European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies in Austria in 2010. In the same year, she completed an internship in dermatology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Florida in Gainesville (USA). After a three year residency programme in Italy, under the supervision of Dr. Chiara Noli, she obtained the European Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology (Dip ECVD) in 2015. In 2012 she won the Ghent University Special Research Fund scholarship for a PhD in food allergy in dogs and obtained the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ghent (Belgium) in 2018. She obtained the title of Specialist in Pathology and Clinical Animal Disease at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the State University of Milan in the same year. Dr. Maina is head of the Credentials Committee of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology and a member of the Scientific Organizing Committee of the European Veterinary Dermatology Congress (ESVD-ECVD) since 2018. She has given several lectures, authored articles in Italian and international journals. She currently works in Switzerland as a veterinary dermatology consultant.

Dr. Irina Matricoti

VETERINARY SURGEON

European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology (Dipl. ECVD)

Dr. Matricoti graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bologna in 2008. After graduation she completed the cytopathology course at the Universities of Bologna, Padua and Perugia (2008-2010) and then a three-year dermatology course of the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (2012-2014) at the University of Vienna in Austria. In 2016 she started a residency programme in veterinary dermatology under the supervision of Drs. Chiara Noli (Dip ECVD) and Silvia Colombo (Dip ECVD) that ended in 2019. In the same year she obtained the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (Dip ECVD). During her training years, she completed numerous externships as a visitor at referral centres for veterinary dermatology in Europe and the United States (2015, North Caroline State University; 2016, Animal Dermatology, San Diego, California, USA; 2017, Ecòle Nationale Veterinaire, Nantes, France; 2018, University Animal Hospital, Uppsala, Sweden). She currently works as a veterinary dermatologist in Emilia Romagna and Veneto and at the Teaching Veterinary Hospital of the University of Bologna. She is author and coauthor of scientific publications in international journals and she has been instructor for veterinary dermatology courses in Italy and abroad. She is member of the Italian and European Societies of Veterinary Dermatology.

Dr. Roberta Sartori

VETERINARY SURGEON

European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology (Dipl. ECVD)

Dr. Sartori graduated with honours in 2011 from the University of Milan. After an internship she worked as a freelance veterinary surgeon in several veterinary centres in Milan and province, consulting with Italian veterinary dermatology specialists. In 2013 she attended a course in veterinary dermatology at the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) at the University of Vienna. Then she followed courses in veterinary cytology and dermatology in Italy and abroad. In 2016 she attended an externship at the University of Nantes, France and in 2017 at the University of Florida in Gainesville, USA. At the end of residency programme under the supervision of Drs. Silvia Colombo and Chiara Noli, in 2021 she obtained the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (Dip ECVD). She is a member of the Italian (SIDEV) and European (ESVD) societies of veterinary dermatology. To date she works as dermatology consultant for veterinary centres in Lombardy, is a speaker at courses and national conferences and is coauthor of scientific articles in Italian and international journals.
